Business Development Manager (Invoice Discounting)

Job Purpose

Play a lead role in creating and managing a portfolio of clients and their Invoice Finance arrangements to ensure profitability and maximise business revenue

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generate new business leads from every possible source available
  • Underwrite new business proposals in-line with company policy
  • Employ best practice and seek to continually improve processes and productivity
  • Conduct due diligence audits and new business surveys to effectively monitor risk and make recommendations for credit
  • Ensuring timely collections of payments (cheques) and by product
  • Creating and managing business relationship with clients in a manner that ensures maximum retention
  • Ensure payments, booking and invoicing is promptly done to avoid possible loss of business opportunities
  • Play a pivot role in the company in regards to resolution of clients’ issues, queries and complaints
  • Follow up with employers on reasons for unpaid and recommend for collections
  • Updating the list of authorized clients’ signatories
  • Timely generate and share management reports i.e. daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Promptly prepare and deliver stop orders whenever it becomes necessary
  • Create and maintain healthy business relationship with the schemes companies/ institutions and maintain the quality of the company’s loan book to an acceptable PAR.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or any Business-related course
  • At least 5-years progressive experience of working in an office environment, preferably in Factoring and Invoice discounting
  • Confidentiality, numeracy and literacy; IT – Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and PowerPoint; administration, planning and organising; customer service skills and ability to work alone whilst being a team player
